Labaab Restaurant is a Khmer authentic restaurant located above Pharmacie de la Gare, close to Vattanac Capital tower. This Khmer restaurant was founded by a Khmer civil engineer and design educated in the United States, Mr. Rith Yoeun. The restaurant offers Southeast Asian cuisine, which mainly focuses on the Lower Mekong cuisine, including Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thai dishes. Using “river” as the main theme, Labaab Restaurant uses traditional Khmer objects as the decoration of the venue.

It might be a bit hard to find Labaab Restaurant, as it is located on the second floor. However, the environment of the restaurant will never disappoint you. The setting of the restaurant is inspired by lord homes in Battambang in the Lordship Era. The Lordship Era is a period between 1795 and 1907. At Labaab Restaurant, the dining room resembles of A Battamband lord house with an open plan and wood carvings. The restaurant uses objects that represent the Mekong river as decorative objects, such as agricultural products and traditional fishing equipment.

Type of cuisine served

The menu of Labaab restaurant is more of Lower Mekong cuisine, which is a combination of Cambodia’s east cuisine and Vietnam’s south cuisine, as well as some Thai dishes. Nutrition is valued at Labaab as most of the dishes consist of fish and vegetables. We recommend you to try Labaab’s fish amok and Samlor Korko. The fish amok (around 6.20 USD) is well-balance with the sweetness of the palm sugar and a little bit of bitterness of noni leaves. Samlor Korko is a Khmer soup cook from spice, herb, fish paste, meat or fish, and vegetable. Braised mam of Labaab is also a dish to go for. It is a dish of fat pork belly with fermented fish. Other popular dishes there include steamed stuffed pork, snail with lemongrass, and fried quail eggs with ground fish.
